As one of the provinces which has the fastest growing of economics, Riau has a great tourism places. Pekanbaru, the capital city of Riau, was known as a small village called Senapelan, but now it is a great oil city. The famous place which related to the history of old kingdom is Muara Takus Temple. This is a heritage of Srivijaya kingdom. Another place is Limbungan Lake which provide the water irrigation for the agricultural area. The Taluk Kuantan is famous as the centre of Pacu Jalur, a traditional boat race held in every Indonesian’s Independence Day.
